San Francisco Engagement Photos- Alice Marble Court, Swenson’s Ice Cream + Crissy Field

Engagement Photos in San Francisco – M + T's Perfect Day

Engagement photos are all about capturing who you are as a couple — and M + T totally nailed that. When they told me they wanted to take their engagement photos in some of their favorite San Francisco spots, I couldn’t wait to get started. As a Bay Area photographer, there’s something special about working with couples who have such a deep connection to their city and the places that mean the most to them.

Starting Strong at Alice Marble Tennis Courts

We kicked things off at the iconic Alice Marble Tennis Courts in the heart of San Francisco. This spot, with its amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, is perfect for anyone looking for a backdrop that screams “San Francisco” while still feeling relaxed and fun. M and T were totally in their element here, playing around and goofing off, which made for some of the most authentic and playful shots of the day. There’s nothing like capturing a couple just being themselves, and Alice Marble gave us that perfect setting.

Next Stop: Swenson's Ice Cream

After some fun photos with views of the Golden Gate Bridge, we headed over to one of M + T’s favorite local spots — Swenson's Ice Cream. If you’re ever in the Bay Area, Swenson’s is a must-visit. Not only does it serve up some of the best ice cream around, but it was also the place where M and T shared many sweet moments together. When we were planning the engagement shoot and they mentioned Swenson’s, I just knew I had to get a shot of the ring in an ice cream cone. It was such a fun way to incorporate a meaningful place into their photos — plus, who doesn’t love a good ice cream shot?

Golden Hour at Crissy Field Beach

We wrapped up the day at one of the most special locations of all: Crissy Field. This is where M proposed to T, so it felt like the perfect place to finish off their engagement photos. As we chased that golden hour light, we were treated to a stunning sunset and a little champagne toast to celebrate their engagement. The glow of the sun and the peaceful sound of the waves made for a magical ending to a photoshoot full of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments.

Why Choose San Francisco for Your Engagement Photos?

As a professional Bay Area photographer, one of my favorite things about shooting engagement photos in San Francisco is the endless variety of locations. From the iconic views at Alice Marble to the laid-back vibes at Ocean Beach, there’s a spot for every couple. Whether you’re drawn to urban settings, scenic parks, or somewhere a bit more personal, San Francisco has it all.

For M + T, each location was more than just a pretty backdrop — they were places with meaning, which made their photos that much more special. If you're planning your own engagement photos in San Francisco, think about the spots that hold memories for you. Maybe it's a park where you like to walk, a coffee shop you frequent, or a beach where you shared an unforgettable moment. Personal touches like these will make your photos more authentic and true to your relationship.
