S reached out to me with one mission: to ask H to marry him somewhere special along the SF Embarcadero—a spot that’s close to their hearts. One of their favorite date night rituals is grabbing happy hour oysters at Waterbar San Francisco, so staying in the area just felt right.
We worked together to scout the perfect location, and Pier 7 quickly rose to the top of the list. With its jaw-dropping views of the San Francisco skyline and Bay Bridge, Pier 7 is one of the most picturesque proposal spots in the Bay Area.
The Perfect Proposal Plan
S planned a casual date that turned into one unforgettable moment. After cocktails and oysters (because of course 🦪🍸), they took a stroll down Pier 7, hand in hand, with the glow of the late afternoon sun hitting the bay. And then—right in the middle of the pier—S got down on one knee and popped the question.
H’s reaction was everything. One of the best I’ve seen. She was shocked, overjoyed, and completely caught off guard. Through happy tears, she even gasped, “We’re going to miss our Susie Cakes pickup!”—she had ordered cupcakes for S’s birthday. But honestly? A fiancé is the best birthday gift of all.
As if the moment couldn’t get more cinematic, a group of Eastern European tourists nearby saw what was happening and immediately burst into applause. It was the sweetest, most unexpected little celebration—and you could just feel the UNIVERSAL love in the air.
A Sunny SF Engagement Session
After the excitement settled a bit, we walked along Pier 7 to take some just engaged portraits. With the SF cityscape and Bay Bridge behind them, these two were glowing. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect—one of those rare sunny, blue-sky days in San Francisco that make you fall in love with the city all over again.
We wandered down the San Francisco waterfront, taking fun and relaxed engagement photos along the way. Our final stop? Cupid’s Span—the giant red bow and arrow sculpture along the Embarcadero that’s become an iconic backdrop for engagement photos in San Francisco. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect ending to their proposal story. Cupid clearly knew what he was doing. ❤️
