I’M JEANIE

I’m a 4th generation Oaklander (home of the Mai Tai and Popsicles!) and I love calling The Town my home! My roots are deeply embedded here. My 101-year-old grandmother walked the Golden Gate Bridge on the day it opened—talk about being part of history! I know all the hot spots and must-see places to visit. Get your art fix at the de Young Museum located in Golden Gate Park. Want to immerse yourself in the counter-culture of the Bay area? Then you have to spend the day at Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley. We even have a beachfront Taco Bell in Pacifica where you can step right onto the sand! The wonders of the Bay area are never ending.

What I Value

Collaborative Partnerships

Think of me as your co-pilot. This is an exciting time in your life and I want to help guide you through this experience with your best interest in mind. We’ll figure out all the details together. After all, you aren’t just an extra in the background, you’re the star of this show!

Memorable Experiences

When you look back on this, I want you to feel the happiest, proudest, biggest butterflies in your stomach type of feelings! Sure, we’ll spend time planning the details and going over checklists, but there’s even more room for fun, laughter, and a whole lot of love.

Authentic Storytelling

Above all, I want this to be an honest representation of who you are at this time in your life. I’ll be here to catch you and lift you up when you need a boost, and champion your greatest moments. Whatever your story is, let’s tell it together.

My journey into photography started over 10 years ago in digital design and photo editing. This is where the magic happens, and I love combining my photojournalistic skills with editing to highlight each captured moment. Photography actually runs in my family. My great-grandfather owned a photography studio in Wisconsin, so it looks like I’m doing the family proud!

When I work with my clients, I always want them to feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. Look, I get it, it’s weird to be photographed. So we’re gonna laugh, tell jokes, dance around, and most of all, have a good time! I want this experience to be fun and memorable, no matter what.

Providing belly rubs to my Boston Terrier and the love of my life, Carl.

In addition to photography, I have a passion for art, being in or around water, comedy, and traveling. I often travel up north to Oregon to visit family and friends and pass by my Alma Mater (Go Ducks!).

Photography is a family business. My great-grandfather in Wisconsin at his photography studio.

My favorite place in the world, Lake Tahoe.

“Jeanie was fantastic!!! Although we had less-than-ideal weather for our engagement shoot, Jeanie helped us roll with the punches and laugh and enjoy ourselves. Not only did we have a great time, the photos turned out beautiful! We got them back quickly and we have such great memories of the shoot. We had never had professional photos taken before and she made us feel so comfortable. I would highly recommend Jeanie Horton Photography to anyone looking for a fun professional photographer!”
